Rules Changes for 2008 / 2009

Post  Cliffcanuck on Wed Aug 20, 2008 6:01 pm

We need to nail down a few of the rules for this and future years.

For example:
Entry fees and prize breakdowns.

The draft system for next year.

Whether we want to use some sort of declared Roster system.

Trade mechanics, approvals systems.

Thoughts?

Does anyone still have that email that I had sent a while ago with proposed rules. That would give us a start. We can finalize rules at the draft using a vote.

Should we go with Poolexpert.com again this year?

Or should we change sites and maybe try yahoo? I've heard yahoo is pretty easy to run and it is free.

Or we could finalize rules before the draft on this page. Just so were not all disagreeing with each other the day of the draft. Thats why board is here to discuss rules and other things.

I think we should keep using poolexpert and see what else we can do with that pool, it might be able to do more than what we were using it for last year. Trevor said at one point he wanted to declare weekly/ monthly rosters, actually not a bad idea if it can be done, but will have to be every 2 or 4 weeks for changes as once a week is too tough to do for some. What do people think about doing that? Does anyone know what the current point system is for goalies, I can't recall? How about a mid season roster drop/ pickup. At the 40 game mark everyone can drop 1 player and pick up 1 free agent, starting from last place and through the order. Just a thought?

Check out ESPN.com for Fantasy hockey

Someone should take a look at this site and see what we can work with. It seems we can do quite a bit with it. We should try and do something different with this keeper pool instead of just having the regular old boring hockey pool.
